Job description
Our client is a renowned Foreign Corporate Bank. They are looking for someone to join as an Associate - VP (Team Head) - Market & Liquidity Risk Team.
(VP / Team Lead, HKD 75k)
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Responsible for managing market and liquidity risk, as well as reporting to senior management in an accurate, timely, and proactive manner. Market risk encompasses both the banking and trading books.
- Leading team members to ensure a stable treasury middle office operation while collaborating with other departments, including Treasury, Finance, Back Office, and Head Office.
- Enhancing market and liquidity risk management tools and frameworks in accordance with regulatory requirements, such as HKMA SPM LM-2, head office instructions, and best practices from peer banks.
- Managing audits related to the Market & Liquidity Risk Committee (MLRC) conducted by both internal and external auditors, as well as regulatory authorities.
Requirements
- University degree or higher in a relevant field.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in market risk or liquidity risk management within the banking sector.
- Preferably experienced in group, team, or project management, as well as people management.
- Familiarity with derivative products, Risk Appetite Framework (RAF), data governance, and model governance is preferred.
- Fluent in English; proficiency in Cantonese and Mandarin is preferred.
- Less experienced candidates may be considered for an individual contributor (non-team leader) role.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Responsible for the day-to-day operations as the treasury middle office and for managing market and liquidity risk for the Bank,
- Measure the Mark-To-Market value of financial instruments and assess market and liquidity risk positions using Excel and system operations, while collaborating with the Treasury front and back offices. Monitor compliance with loss limits and risk positions.
- Conduct internal monitoring processes related to dealers' activities, market conduct, accounting, and data reconciliation.
- Investigate any irregularities or abnormalities identified through the aforementioned measurements and checks, and report findings to management in a timely manner, including during ALM Committee meetings.
Requirements
- University degree or higher
- Relevant work experience, preferably in the banking or financial sector
- Knowledge of Reuters and Bloomberg, as well as programming skills such as Macro, VBA, or Python, would be advantageous
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a positive, can-do attitude
- Fluent in English
